You're reminding me of a Chinese-language proverb that I've talked about on my other blog. I saw this proverb on the show "Great Queen Seondeok." It goes:
去去去中知 行行行裏覺 거거거중지 행행행리각
Very roughly: go-go-going is knowledge; move-move-moving is enlightenment. All you do brings some sort of wisdom.
With every step, we grow in wisdom... (Admittedly, I've never done a cross-country walk.)
